New in Christ Pt. 2

New in Christ Pt. 2
Introduction: Scientists tell us that most of the body replaces itself every 7 – 15 years. The interior lining of the digestive track is new every 5 days. Skin all over our body is new every 2 – 4 weeks. The red blood cells are new every 6 months. Your liver regenerates every couple of years due to the fact that it is always taking care of the toxins in our body. Your skeletal structure is recreated every 10 years. Jesus is about making you NEW from the inside out. Rebirths are God’s Business: Romans 3:10, 23; 1 Peter 2:24 1. God sees possibilities in you that you don’t see in yourself. 2. God is able to do for you what you cannot do for yourself. 3. God is able to pay the price you can’t afford. The problem that plagues the world the most today is SIN. A NEW Creation: 2 Corinthians 5:17; John 3:3, 6-7 • Being Born Again involves you becoming a NEW creation. Rebirth Involves Salvation: John 3:17 Jesus died on the cross; that’s history. Jesus died for you; that’s salvation. Forgiveness Accepted in Rebirth: John 3:18; 2 Corinthians 5:18 • Rebirth involves forgiveness. • Rebirth involves reconciliation. A gap exists between God and humanity, but there’s a bridge over the chasm. • By the Cross of Jesus Christ, we become joined again with the Father. Rebirth into Eternal Life: John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:19 • God-quality life begins right now in this world, as well as the God-quality life in the life to come. —> Jesus came from Heaven to Earth, to bring Heaven to Earth. “If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world. If none of my earthly pleasures satisfy it, that does not prove that the universe is a fraud.” C.S. Lewis in Mere Christianity “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.” Revelation 3:20 NLT Weekly Question: Will you open the door to your heart and let Jesus in?
