Introduction: Have you ever noticed that movies are often not as good as the book? Sometimes, something is lost in the translation from the in-depth text to the verbal dialogue and the visual imagery. Sometimes, I believe, Jesus gets lost in the translation. Often people see Jesus only as a good man, a great teacher, and a prophet, but lose the fact that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who made everything NEW.
Jesus Wants to Adopt You
“But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says, ‘Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine.’” Isaiah 43:1 NLT
“We wait eagerly for our adoption as sons and daughters of God.” Romans 8:23 NLT
Jesus Wants to Forgive You and Give You a New Purpose
“But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” 1 John 1:9 NLT
“I—yes, I alone—will blot out your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again.” Isaiah 43:25 NLT
“He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.” Psalm 103:12 NLT
“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” 2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT
“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So, I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 NLT
