God is Sufficient

The Most Important Thing About You
“What comes into (your) mind when (you) think about God is the most important thing about (you) …. Man’s spiritual history will positively demonstrate that no religion has ever been greater than its idea of God.” A.W. Tozer

What Do You Really Think of God?
Ideas about God are formed early in life.
· Shaped by family, culture, and religious circles.
· They determine much of your behavior.
· They tend to run you or ruin you.

The Insufficiency of God?
The idea that God needs us, makes our God insufficient rather than all sufficient.

The Sufficiency of God – Acts 17:24-28
· Our view of God doesn’t affect Who God Really Is!

“Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God…” Psalm 90:2 NIV

“He (God) determines the number of the stars; He gives to all of them their names.” Psalm 147:4 ESV

The first and most important attribute of God is that God is sufficient all by Himself.

The mystery is that this self-sufficient God freely chose to create us.
· Human beings who could come to know Him personally.

“Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are Mine…” Isaiah 43:1 NIV

Conclusion
This God who does not need anything from us, offers us Jesus, who is everything we truly need.

“My grace is sufficient for you,…” 2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10 NIV
