Cookies & Cocoa

Get into the Christmas spirit and join us for a Cookies & Cocoa on Friday, December 15 from 6:00 – 8:00pm. This event is open to everyone, so bring a friend or neighbor along. If able, please bring a plate of your favorite Christmas cookies to share, or just enjoy the cookies that are contributed. NLC will provide the hot chocolate. There will also be a cookie contest, sugar cookie decorating for the kids, and a “shopping” area for families who need a little extra help with Christmas gifts this season. We hope you’ll join us for this fun, community event!
Cookie Contest: Please submit at least two cookies of each kind for the judges to sample from. You can put them in a small Ziploc bag with no identifying marks to keep the judging fair and unbiased. You can submit as many kinds of cookies as you would like. Awards will be given to “Best Decorated Cookie”, “Most Unique Cookie”, “Best Layered Bar Cookie”, and “Best Overall Cookie”. Cookie submissions will be accepted from 6:00 – 6:30pm, with awards announced by 7:30pm. Look for signs in the church lobby that will direct you to where the cookie contest drop off is located.
Kids Activities: Kids are welcome to join in on the fun by creating their very own decorated sugar cookie! We will provide the cookies and decorations for the kids to use. An award will be given to the “Most Creative” cookie of the night. The award will be announced by 7:30pm.
Toys for Christmas: In our auditorium, we will have an area set up for families that need a little extra help with Christmas gifts this year. We will have a selection of Nerf guns, Squishmallows, scooters, and more.
Volunteers Needed: We need many volunteers to make this event a success. Please consider signing up for a time-slot here. Please sign up by December 10.
