Welcome to Aravah – New Life Church’s Women’s Ministry
Aravah is Hebrew for Willow Tree (Jeremiah 17:7-8)
The Willow Tree is seen as inspiring and symbolic of humans’ capability to withstand hardship, loss, and difficult emotions. It is a symbol of fertility and new life. The leaves represent the balance, harmony, and growth we experience through these storms and life challenges. The willow tree gives us hope, a sense of belonging, and safety. Furthermore, the ability to let go of the pain and suffering to grow new, strong and bold. As women in this world we learn, grow, and evolve through challenging times of adversity. The willow tree is capable of bending in outrageous poses without snapping. We as women are capable of doing the same on a mental, emotional, and spiritual level.
Every phase of a woman’s life brings its own unique set of joys and challenges. Our ministry is designed to meet each woman in whatever stage she is – from single to married to widowed; from workplace to home to school; from a first look at spiritual matters to in-depth Bible study. Here you will experience a spiritual haven where you can intentionally tend to your soul while connecting with God and other women. Aravah offers a safe, secure place for a woman to learn to live a transformed life finding solace, encouragement, and the courage to face life’s challenges. We strive for every woman to feel embraced, valued, and empowered. Together, we can create a community that uplifts, inspires, and strengthens our faith. May our hearts remain open, our hands ready to serve, and our minds committed to the teaching of love and compassion.
Aravah offers opportunities for growth through Bible study, interest groups, community work, special events and more. Check out upcoming Women’s Ministry events here. Reach out to Jesica with any questions at jgonzalez@nlcyorkville.org.
