Introduction: God is love! That’s a hard truth to fully embrace and let it sink into your deepest soul.  But, if and when you do, that truth will change everything about you.

Fear Obstructs God’s Love for You
The emotion that most hinders you from experiencing God’s unconditional love for you is NOT hate, but fear.

Jesus’ Love Surpasses Fear
But God:

• Was merciful and loving.
• Demonstrated His love openly for us when we continued in disobedience.

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

Love in Paul’s time was reliant on the worthiness of the recipient.

• Eros: the love of attraction to other
• Storge: the love of family
• Philia: brotherly love
• Agape: love based on the character and nature of the one giving love

God’s Unconditional Love

• Unworthy of God’s Love: YES!
• Worthless to God: NO!
